Il premio della giuria della quarta edizione del nostro festival va a “Discipline” di Christophe M. Saber, quello del pubblico, invece, se l'è aggiudicato “Nur” di Andrea Brusa e Marco Scotuzzi: congratulazioni ad entrambi!

Nove e mezza di sera, in un negozio di alimentari di Losanna, in Svizzera. Il locale è gestito da egiziani. In un momento di rabbia, un padre perde la pazienza e punisce la figlia disobbediente. Una cliente, scioccata, interviene immediatamente per esprimere tutto il suo disappunto. Gli altri clienti, a loro volta, si uniscono alla conversazione, dicendo ciascuno la sua. La discussione diventa quindi un dibattito e, poi, un vero e proprio litigio. La situazione pian piano precipita nel caos generale...

Una volontaria in un centro per profughi si trova in difficoltà quando una rifugiata siriana, che ha avuto un aborto spontaneo durante il suo traumatico viaggio nel Mediterraneo, le chiede aiuto per trovare un trafficante che la riunisca alla sua famiglia in Svezia.

DISCIPLINE, by Christophe M. Saber

It’s 9:30pm in a grocery store in Lausanne, Switzerland. The place is run by Egyptians. In a moment of anger, a father loses patience and disciplines his disobedient child. A shocked customer immediately intervenes to express her concern. Other customers join the conversation, they each put in their two cents and the staff is swamped. This discussion turns into a debate, which into quarrel. The situation gradually gets out of hand and into chaos…
Christophe M. Saber was born in Cairo, in 1991. Egyptian/Swiss nationality. He graduated from an American College in Cairo in 2009. He then completed a short school of digital filmmaking in the U.S before being admitted in the University of Arts and Design of Lausanne in the Cinema section in 2010. Discipline is his diploma film.
NUR, by Andrea Brusa and Marco Scotuzzi

A volunteer in an Italian shelter finds herself in a tough spot when a Syrian refugee, who has had a miscarriage during her traumatic travel across the Mediterranean Sea, asks for help to find a smuggler who can reunite her with her family in Sweden.
Marco Scotuzzi and Andrea Brusa first met in 2006 when they where classmates in film school. Marco as a freelance filmmaker has realized videos for different platforms and has also worked with NGOs, shooting and editing social documentaries in Africa and South America. Andrea has started in development in Rome then moved to Los Angeles in 2012 where he graduated in screenwriting at UCLA. He has received many awards for his writing (such as Alfred P. Sloan Award and Best Feature Script at Rome Independent Film Festival). In 2013, they have created the creative group "Nieminen" together with their producer and partner Andrea Italia. The first two projects produced by Nieminen have been selected and won awards in numerous Italian film festivals. “Nur” is their third short movie.
